Revise data shows much slower employment growth

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) revised data show that only 181,000 jobs were added in 2025, significantly lower than the 1.5 million added in 2024.However, in January, the BLS reported 130,000 new jobs, almost twice the analysts' estimate, and the unemployment rate inched down to 4.3%, down from 4.4% in December: still well above 4.0% in January 2025.
