The economy grew 2%

The U.S. economy grew at a rate of 2% in the first quarter of 2026. Nominal GDP growth reached 5.6%, but once adjusted for inflation, real economic growth was estimated at an annual rate of 2%. This brings the total economic growth over the last four quarters to 2.7%. This measure indicates that the economy continues to move forward, though the underlying momentum is beginning to shift.
